SBC x MHF Malay Writers' Residency (English)

Jointly organised by the Singapore Book Council (SBC) and the Malay Heritage Foundation (MHF), the SBC x MHF Malay Writers Residency is a new developmental programme designed to support aspiring and emerging Malay-language fiction writers in Singapore.
This six-month pilot programme (July–December 2025) offers selected writers the time, space, and guidance to develop a short story or fiction project in Malay that explores aspects of Malay culture, heritage, or identity.
Participants will benefit from:
- One-on-one mentorship with an established writer
- A series of workshops on creative writing to support project development
- A 4-day writing retreat with a guest foreign writer
- A final public sharing to showcase their works
- Community engagement opportunities with the wider literary and heritage networks

Dianjurkan bersama oleh Singapore Book Council (SBC) dan Yayasan Warisan Melayu (MHF), Program Bimbingan Penulis Melayu SBC x MHF merupakan inisiatif pembangunan baharu yang bertujuan menyokong penulis fiksyen bahasa Melayu yang sedang meningkat naik atau baru bermula di Singapura.
Program edisi pertama ini akan berlangsung selama enam bulan ini (Julai–Disember 2025) untuk memberi peluang kepada penulis terpilih untuk mendapatkan ruang, masa, dan bimbingan bagi mengembangkan projek cerpen atau fiksyen dalam bahasa Melayu yang meneroka aspek budaya, warisan, atau identiti Melayu.
Peserta akan menerima manfaat berikut:
- Bimbingan oleh penulis berpengalaman
- Bengkel penulisan dan sesi semakan projek
- Sesi Menulis dalam Rahat selama 4 hari
- Sesi perkongsian akhir atau pementasan untuk meraikan hasil karya
- Peluang untuk berinteraksi bersama komuniti dalam rangkaian sastera dan warisan
