Join senior editor and founder of Unfolding Edits, Ana Fletcher, for a 90-minute deep dive into the art and craft of literary editing.

Drawing on 15 years of experience working with bestselling and prize-winning writers, Ana will unpack the realities of shaping manuscripts, advocating for an author’s creative vision, and sustaining a career in literary editing. The session will conclude with a 30-minute Q&A.

Cancellation:

The programme can be cancelled or postponed two weeks before the programme date if the minimum number of participants is not met. Participants will be fully refunded for workshops cancelled by us.

Participants who are unable to attend a workshop they have registered for are to inform us of the reason two weeks before the workshop date. They will be fully refunded in the event of extenuating and mitigating circumstances (E.g. illness, bereavement, accidents) . Those who inform us up to 5 working days before the workshop date will receive a 50% refund. Those who did not turn up at the workshop will not receive a refund.

Ana Fletcher

Ana Fletcher is an editor and trainer, and the founder of Unfolding Edits.

She spent five years as a senior editor at Jonathan Cape, an imprint of Penguin Random House, and two years before that at the independent press And Other Stories. She has edited works of fiction and non-fiction by a range of prize-winning and bestselling authors, including Martin Amis, Julian Barnes, Malorie Blackman, Jarvis Cocker, Tessa Hadley, Anthony Horowitz, Howard Jacobson, Daisy Johnson, Vex King, Ian McEwan and Jeanette Winterson.

In 2024, Ana launched Unfolding Edits to expand the publishing industry’s approach to editorial training, and today runs workshops for publishers and literary agencies across the industry. She also continues to edit fiction and nonfiction for all major publishers in the UK.
