How do Singapore writers carve out the time, space, and community to grow their craft, and what opportunities exist beyond our shores to help them do it? In this panel talk, we bring together writers at different career stages and genres to share their experiences with residencies, overseas workshops, craft programmes, and MFAs. From solo writing retreats to intensive craft workshops like the McCormack Writing Center and Clarion West, these opportunities offer more than just time to write — they open doors to new networks, perspectives, and ways of sustaining a writing life.
Panellists will explore how to navigate the landscape of writing opportunities available to Singapore writers, how to assess what's right for you at different stages of your career, and how to make the most of what these experiences expose you to, long after you've returned home.
