Support Us
The Singapore Book Council (SBC) is a registered charity and non-profit organisation. Support us through a donation or volunteer work – Every little bit counts towards the support of the local literary arts scene.
Donation
SBC is a registered charity (IPC status), and all donations made to the organisation are tax-deductible.
We are heavily dependent on continued funding, sponsorships and monetary donations received from the government, foundations, companies and members of the public. Your funds keep our festivals and programmes alive, and go a long way in supporting the growth and development of the literary arts scene in Singapore. View our annual reports.
A 250% tax deduction is applicable on qualifying donations. Cash donations will be eligible for dollar-for-dollar matching from the Cultural Matching Fund (CMF), which means your donation doubles in value.

SBC Champion of Books

Dr Stephen Riady
The SBC Champion of Books is the highest class of donor level acknowledged by the Singapore Book Council (SBC). This distinctive title is awarded to an esteemed individual or organisation who has made a generous monetary donation or sponsorship to SBC, in strong support for the council’s programmes.
For more than 50 years, SBC, a non-profit organisation and registered charity founded in 1968, has been continually organising festivals, awards, programmes, book projects and literary collaborations, amongst others, to nurture Singapore’s literary scene, and to foster new creative and career opportunities for writers. These efforts are only sustainable with the ongoing aid from philanthropists, corporate sponsors, foundations and governmental bodies.
The SBC Champion of Books is awarded in gratitude and honour of the benevolent donor who has come forward with their invaluable contribution to support SBC’s enduring vision in developing Singapore’s books and literary arts sector. We thank you, wholeheartedly.
