本书收录诗人十多年来发表在港台、新马和中国大陆报刊的诗作，也收录了花踪文学奖的得奖诗作和入围时报文学奖新诗组决选的两首长诗。这本诗集的多首诗皆温润可亲，写作形式多变，独具设计感。诗集的上辑作品以情诗为主，却不乏知性成分，大多关乎情爱与交友，以及爱情如何在网路时代被数码化和空间化。下辑作品瞻望全球八方动态，对帝国风景、恐怖政治、气候正义、新冠疫情、爱国主义、华人认同和种族歧视等议题提出犀利的观察和反思。
Small Revolt
This book collects the poems that the poet has published in various newspapers and magazines in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia and mainland China over more than a decade. This collection also includes the winning poem for the Huazong Literary Award as well as two shortlisted poems by the China Times Literary Award. Most of the poems in the first part of the book are related to love and dating, depicting how love is digitised and spatialised in the Internet age. The second part of the book widens the perspective to global developments, offering shrewd observations and reflections on issues such as imperial landscapes, terror politics, climate justice, COVID-19, Nationalism, Chinese identity and racial discrimination.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
许维贤
许维贤任教于新加坡南洋理工大学，著有四本学术专书，并主编三本学术专书。另外也著有两本诗集、两本小说集和一本散文集。曾在国内外荣获数十项文学奖项，包括中国的王默人小说创作奖，新加坡文学奖华文组非虚构写作首奖和新加坡金笔奖华文组短篇小说首奖等等。
Hee Wai Siam
Hee Wai Siam is a faculty member at Nanyang Technological University who authored four academic monographs and edited three academic collections. He has written two volumes of poetry, two short story collections, and one essay collection. He has received numerous literary awards both locally and internationally, including the Wang Mo-Ren Fiction Creation Award in China, the Singapore Literature Prize for Chinese Creative Nonfiction, and the Singapore Golden Point Award for Chinese Short Story, among others.

以前是手写，现在是有些字句是先手写在我的记事簿里，当要进入构思全文，我会打字。通常有几份草稿，最后选择最满意的草稿发表，因此创作速度像蜗牛那般缓慢。
Previously, I wrote by hand; now, some sentences are first handwritten in my notebook, and when it comes to drafting the entire text, I type it out. I usually have several drafts and ultimately choose the one I am most satisfied with for publication, so the writing process is as slow as a snail.

在这三年冠病期间无法出国的日子里，新加坡似乎俨然变成人们的安全岛。我在安全岛上完成此书，反复思考自由和安全的两难。
During these three years of the pandemic, when traveling abroad was not possible, Singapore seemed to become a safe haven for people. I completed this book on the safe haven, repeatedly contemplating the dilemma between freedom and security.
回顾入围作品的写作过程，您会给当时的自己一个什么建议？| If you could give one advice to yourself when you were writing this book, what would it be?
这三年多以来的全球大疫情，很多国家都宣布进入紧急状态。如果你只能在自由或安全的两个选项中选其一，你会选择自由，抑或安全？这个很“新加坡式”的提问的言外之意是：也许你应该觉得侥幸，这世上还有不少人的生命是连这两个选项都没有。那些逃亡的乌克兰难民，那些关押在巴勒斯坦难民营的无国籍难民，他们有自由和安全的两个选项吗？
Over the past three years of the global pandemic, many countries have declared a state of emergency. If you could only choose between freedom or safety, which would you choose? The “Singaporean-style” implication of this question is: perhaps you should feel fortunate that there are still people in the world who don’t even have these two options. The fleeing Ukrainian refugees and the stateless refugees detained in Palestinian refugee camps—do they have the options of freedom and safety?
