一壶玛卡酒
《一壶玛卡酒》是作者黄华的第一本中短篇小说集。黄华发表过大量的小说,本书收录了黄华亲自挑选的五篇中短篇小说,可谓优中选优,作品分别涉猎新加坡日据时代、新中国解放前后、现代都市爱情、官场讽刺等,每篇的写作风格各不相同,或优美、或辛辣、或紧张,相同的是,朴素的文字中,都充满人文的光辉。
A Pot of Maka Wine
A Pot of Maca Wine is a collection of five short- and medium-length stories that are carefully curated by the author. It discusses a plethora of topics including the Japanese Occupation, Liberation of New China, modern romance, and political satire. Each story offers a different style—graceful, bitter, exciting—but the radiance of humanity shines through each tale.

耀文和大高立即跑回了车仔行,他们是连滚带爬地跑回来的。停住了脚,他们才发现,浑身上下的衣服都湿透了,用魂飞胆破来形容一点不为过。
“怎么办?我们被日本人死死地盯上了,这四周铁丝网密布,岗哨林立,恐怕……很难逃脱啊!”大高望着耀文,说话的语气有些颤抖,一句话断了几次,才勉强说完。
“先不着急,今天肯定出不去了。要耐心,我们等一天再 说,如果检证官换了班,也许有机会。”耀文此时更像个大哥, 反倒是他镇静下来安慰起大高了。
这一夜真是生死之夜,耀文连遗书都写好了。这个十九岁的年轻人第一次体验了生命的脆弱,他在遗书中的一段文字,充分表达了他对日本人入侵新加坡的无比悲愤。
“……当自己的家园都得不到保护的时候,生命的意义也就不存在了,不管他事先设计的有多么辉煌,结果只有一个,那就是卑微地走向死亡。”
又是一个白天来临了,岛上的天空乌云密布,暴雨前的闷热实在让人难受,广场中等待检证的队伍,远看似冬眠的巨 蟒,弯弯曲曲横卧在地上,只是慢慢蠕动的躯体,让你觉得他 们仍然是鲜活的生命。

黄华
《一壶玛卡酒》的作者黄华是新加坡作家协会资深会员。2012年起开始小说创作,其中《侥幸》、《复仇》、《沙洋岛》、《爱情诗篇》等多篇小说被编辑赏识,分别发表于《新华文学》、《源》等多家知名刊物。 在一些著名网络平台也有多部长篇小说连载。
Huang Hua
The author of A Pot of Maka Wine, Huang Hua is a senior member of Singapore’s Association of Writers. He began writing in 2012, and some of his best novels such as Lucky, Revenge, Shayang Island, and Love Poems have been published on publications such as Xinhua Literature and YUAN. He is a prolific author with many novels under his belt, and continues to publish serialised work on popular sites.

“心眼”,eye of heart,是指心中的眼睛,它不是物理的表面关联,而是情感的化学变化。
The eye within the heart is not a physical surface connection but a chemical transformation of emotions.

What does your writing process look like? Do you type or write? Are there multiple drafts, long pauses, or sudden bursts of activity?
我是用手机写,两个手机,写好一段会传给另一个手机。不会很多稿,会边思索边写,但不会太长时间停顿,突发的情况有,但不多。
I write using a phone, with two phones: I transfer a section of text to the other phone once it’s completed. I don’t have many drafts; I write while thinking, but I don’t pause for long periods. There are occasional interruptions, but they are not frequent.

Could you share a pivotal moment as you were writing this work?
中篇小说《赤石沟》,是我在中国西安喜来登酒店隔离之中,在14天写的初稿,那一段的每一天都是煎熬和无奈。
The short story "Red Stone Valley" was written during a 14-day quarantine at the Sheraton Hotel in Xi'an, China. Each day was a struggle and full of helplessness.

If you could give one advice to yourself when you were writing this book, what would it be?
小说中的人物,就是自己身边的你、我、他,每一个活生生的人。
The characters in the novel are the people around me—every living person, including you, me, and others.
