Can you crack a language you don’t speak?

Inspired by the decipherment of the Rosetta Stone, we invite you to try your hand at linguistics puzzles in languages from near and far!

Begin with the story of the Rosetta Stone and how its decipherment unlocked the meaning of previously unknown scripts, before putting your own puzzle-solving skills to the test. Work through clues and patterns to see if you can make sense of a language unfamiliar to you.

No prior knowledge of the languages is needed. Instead, you’ll compare clues and work out the rules of each language as you go, with guidance from experienced Linguistics Olympiad solvers.

Come on your own or with friends! Individual participants will be grouped with others depending on your language groups to brainstorm and solve the puzzles together.
