Metamorphoses & Others

This collection is divided into three parts. The first is related to the theme of life and death, the second is about life situations and predicaments, and the third consists of female-centred narratives spanning both the ancient and modern eras, showing how women in ancient times were not necessarily helpless, and those in modern times are not necessarily unfettered. Reading about arrogant colonialists, film stars of the 60s, the anxieties and myths abound in the modern city, and the love and sorrow of women, is like falling into a maze, both linguistic and cultural. Many of the stories are written from a woman's point of view, with "metamorphosis" also being a metaphor for women who are lost and want to find themselves.
