Banana Money
Vazahaimara Nottu (Banana Money) is a collection of articles about the Japanese occupation of Singapore. The book narrates Singapore’s fall to Japan and the dramatic changes to lives in Singapore that followed. Local Chinese were subjected to Japanese wrath, as were other races. Poverty and food shortages plagued Singapore. The INA flourished with Japanese support, while Force 136 movement emerged to fight the Japanese. The events that followed changed global trends until Japan’s surrender to the Allies.

வ ஹேமலதா, கடந்த பத்து வருடங்களாக பல்வேறு தளங்களில் எழுதி வருகிறார். சிங்கப்பூர் மாத இதழான “தி சிராங்கூன் டைம்ஸ்” இல் இரண்டாம் உலகப்போர் தொடர்பான இவரது கட்டுரைத் தொடர் 17 மாதங்களுக்கு வெளிவந்தது. இவரது “வெயிற்துண்டுகள்” கவிதை சிங்கப்பூர் தேசிய கவிதைப் போட்டி 2018ல் முதல் பரிசைப் பெற்றது. இவரது சிறுகதை “பெயர்ச்சி” தங்கமுனை விருது 2019இல் இரண்டாம் பரிசைப் பெற்றது. இவரது சிறுகதைகள் உள்ளூர் மற்றும் அகில உலக சிறுகதைப் போட்டிகளில் வெற்றி பெற்றுள்ளன. இவரது கதைகள் பல்வேறு நாளிதழ்களிலும், மாத இதழ்களிலும், இணைய இதழ்களிலும் வெளிவந்திருக்கின்றன. “வாழைமர நோட்டு” இவரது முதல் புத்தகம் ஆகும்.
