“வண்டியும் ஓரு நால் ஓடதில்” எறும் என்பது ஒரு சிறுகதைத் தொகுப்பு, இது பன்மொழி சிங்கப்பூரில் தமிழ் பேசும் சமூகம் இணைவதற்கான வழிகளைப் பற்றி விவாதிக்கிறது. பெரிய எழுத்துருவில் அச்சிடப்பட்ட இந்த கதைகள், தமிழ் குடும்பங்களின் தினசரி பிரச்சினைகளை விவரிப்பதோடு அவற்றை எவ்வாறு சரிசெய்வது என்பதற்கான பரிந்துரைகளையும் வழங்குகின்றன. இந்தியாவில் பிறந்தவர் மீது சிங்கப்பூரரின் வெறுப்பும், சிங்கப்பூரில் பிறந்தவர் மீது இந்தியநாட்டவரின் வெறுப்பும், இரு தரப்பினரும் இறுதியில் தங்கள் அணுகுமுறைகளை எவ்வாறு மாற்றுகிறார்கள் என்பதை தலைப்பு கதை விவரிக்கிறது. உலகெங்கிலும் உள்ள தமிழ் மக்களின் பிரச்சினைகளைப் பற்றியது, இக்கதைகள்.
Carriage will also board the Barge a day
Vandiyum Oru Naal Oodathil Erum (Carriage will also board the Barge a day) is a short story collection discussing ways the Tamil-speaking community gets along in multilingual Singapore. Printed in large font, the stories describe daily problems in Tamil families and offer suggestions for how to fix them. The title story describes Singaporean hatred for the India-born and Indian hatred for the Singapore-born, and how both sides finally change their attitudes. The stories concern the problems of Tamil people around the world.

எழுத்தாளர், கவிஞர், கல்வியாளர் என்ற பன்முகக் கலைஞர். 29 நவம்பர் 1948ல் பிறந்தவர். இந்தியாவின் தமிழ்நாட்டில் கல்லூரியில் இயற்பியல் பேராசிரியராக பணியைத் தொடங்கி சிங்கப்பூரிலும் கல்விப்பணி ஆற்றும் இவர் இயற்பியலிலும், தத்துவத்திலும் முதுகலைப் பட்டம் பெற்றவர். இவரின் முதல் கவிதைத் தொகுப்பு 2007ல் வெளியீடு கண்டது. இதுவரை 3 சிறுகதைத் தொகுப்பும், 4 கவிதைத் தொகுப்பும், 1 நாவலும் எழுதியிருக்கிறார். இவரின் ஒரே நோக்கம் தமிழ் சமுதாயத்தின் பெருமைகளை தமிழ் சமூகத்திற்கு புதிய கோணத்தில் அறிவிக்க வேண்டும் என்பதே ஆகும். 2007ஆம் ஆண்டின் தங்கமுனை விருது கவிதைப் பிரிவில் இவருடைய கவிதைகள் முதல் பரிசு பெற்றிருக்கிறது.
Yousuf Rowther Rajid
A multiculturalist, writer, poet, and educator, Yousuf Rowther Rajid started his career as a professor of physics in Tamil Nadu, India, before working in Singapore. He holds a masters in physics and philosophy. His first poetry collection was released in 2007, and he has since written three short story collections, four poetry collections, and one novel. He aims to bring the pride of Tamil society to the Tamil community from a new angle. His poems won the 2007 Golden Point Award.
