A workshop that allows you to get in touch with your fears and bring out your dark side. With the guidance of the three-time Bram Stoker Award-winning author, Christina Sng, will teach you how to write a poem with plenty of verve and a dash of horror. 

 Participants interested in finding a new outlet to release their emotions, can pick up tips on how to transfer that onto poetry and expect a fulfilling session. 

 

This workshop takes place on: 

 

  • 29 October 2022 (Saturday), 2 pm to 5 pm SGT

*Please note that there is no lift access to the training room.

 

Workshop Outline:

 

(1)  Learn how to channel your fear into poetry. 

(2)  You will produce one or more poems at the workshop.

 

 


REGISTRATION DETAILS

Minimum – Maximum Number of Participants: 1 – 30 pax

Registration is on a first-come-first-served basis and workshop fees must be paid before the workshop. If the minimum number of participants is not met for the class, the organisers will inform all participants about possible postponement and cancellation, two weeks before the workshop date.

 

Cancellation:

The workshop can be cancelled or postponed two weeks before the workshop date if the minimum number of participants is not met. Participants will be fully refunded for workshops cancelled by us.

Participants who are unable to attend a workshop they have registered for are to inform us of the reason two weeks before the workshop date. They will be fully refunded in the event of extenuating and mitigating circumstances (E.g. illness, bereavement, accidents) . Those who inform us up to 5 working days before the workshop date will receive a 50% refund. Those who did not turn up at the workshop will not receive a refund.

Upon registration, you are deemed to have read and understood the cancellation and withdrawal policy and accept the terms contained therein.

ABOUT TRAINER

Christina Sng

Christina Sng

Christina Sng is the three-time Bram Stoker Award-winning author of A Collection of Nightmares (2017), A Collection of Dreamscapes (2020), Tortured Willows (2021), and Elgin Award runner-up Astropoetry (2017).  

 Her poetry, fiction, essays, and art have appeared in numerous venues worldwide, including Fantastic Stories of the Imagination, Interstellar Flight Magazine, Penumbric, Southwest Review, The Washington Post, and Weird Tales. 

She has garnered many accolades for her work, including multiple honorable mentions in the Year’s Best Fantasy and Horror, and the Best Horror of the Year, prizes and nominations for the Elgin Awards, the Dwarf Stars, the Rhysling Awards, and the Pushcart Prize.  

Christina won the Pula Film Festival International Haiku Competition (2021) and the Jane Reichhold International Prize (2018) for her haiku, and the Third Annual Jane Reichhold Memorial Haiga Award (2018) for her traditional haiga. 

 Her essay Final Girl: A Life in Horror was a finalist in the 2020 Bram Stoker Awards for Superior Achievement in Short Non-Fiction and her first novelette Fury appeared in the multiple award-winning Black Cranes: Tales of Unquiet Women.
