After the Draft: From Manuscript to Marketing

Synopsis

Hoping not to just write, but to also be published? Invest half a day working on setting career goals, and planning how to develop and maintain visibility, and see what a difference it can make to your writing life.

During the workshop, participants will look at the very necessary task of establishing and maintaining visibility so that they become a known quantity in the eyes of publishers and readers.

The workshop will look at such vital career and creativity management tools as an author bio, a book blurb, a social media plan, a writing plan, multiple publishing pitches, a marketing plan, a personal branding plan, and a career development plan.

The workshop is suitable for emerging and mid-career writers who love working with words and want to get more out them professionally.

Learning outcomes:

Participants will develop professional self-awareness, introduce more career structure and planning into their lives and explore such essential planning tools as:

  • several versions of an author bio
  • a book blurb for their current project
  • a social media plan
  • a writing plan
  • multiple publishing pitches
  • a marketing plan
  • a career development plan

 


Cancellation:

The workshop can be cancelled or postponed two weeks before the workshop date if the minimum number of participants is not met. Participants will be fully refunded for workshops cancelled by us.

Participants who are unable to attend a workshop they have registered for are to inform us of the reason two weeks before the workshop date. They will be fully refunded in the event of extenuating and mitigating circumstances (E.g. illness, bereavement, accidents) . Those who inform us up to 5 working days before the workshop date will receive a 50% refund. Those who did not turn up at the workshop will not receive a refund.

Upon registration, you are deemed to have read and understood the cancellation and withdrawal policy and accept the terms contained therein.
