Quah Sy Ren
Born in 1964
Quah is a poet, dramatist and writer. He received his BA degree from the National Taiwan University, his MA from the National University of Singapore, and his PhD from Cambridge University. A recipient of the NAC Young Artist Award, he was once active in the local theatre scene. His forte lies in prose and theatre writing, publishing such works as a prose and poetry collection, Homecoming, an essay collection, In Search of a Temple, and a short story collection, Dreaming and Gazing. He was a former editor of the magazine Hou Lai. He is a founding member of the civil society group, The Tangent.
