SINGAPORE LITERATURE PRIZE

A biennial competition presented by the Book Council, the Singapore Literature Prize aims to stimulate public interest and support for creative writing in Singapore. It promotes Singapore literary talent through due recognition of outstanding published works by Singapore authors.

The Prize is open to Singapore citizens and Permanent Residents whose works of fiction (novels or short stories) and poetry have been published in Singapore or abroad between a specified period in any of the four official languages - English, Chinese, Malay and Tamil.

The Singapore Literature Prize carries an award of $10,000 for the winner in each of the languages. In addition, the winner shall be awarded with a specially commissioned plaque.

The Singapore Literature Prize is supported by the National Arts Council and the National Library Board.




The Rules and Regulations of the Singapore Literature Prize are available in English, Chinese, Malay and Tamil. In case of ambiguity over the translation of the rules and regulations, the English version shall prevail.
