SINGAPORE BOOK CLUB

Read | Discuss | Connect

Welcome to the Singapore Book Club where we read and discuss a selected book once every two months.

Reading does not have to be a solitary experience. It can be enhanced enormously by the opportunity to share with others what you have read.

The Singapore Book Club, jointly organised by the National Book Development Council of Singapore and the Arts House, holds meetings for the public to share their views on a selected book. Our focus is on books with a strong Singaporean flavour and we hope that this discussion group will foster public interest in our local literary and creative arts scene.

Professionals in the field will open the session with contextual background for the book, followed by an open and lively discussion on the book itself, before we end off with some light refreshments. This also means that you do not have to have read the book before coming, but we certainly hope you’ll do so after the session.

So do stop by for an evening of scintillating discussion in a relaxing ambience – the perfect counter to the throes of a working week.
