The "First-Time Writers & Illustrators Publishing Initiative" is an initiative from the Media Development Authority (MDA) and the National Book Development Council of Singapore (NBDCS) to nurture talents in the publishing industry.
The Initiative is targeted at assisting the publication of new works by unpublished local writers and illustrators.
The 3rd First-Time Writers & Illustrators Publishing Initiative seeks submissions from local unpublished writers and illustrators for the Children’s Books category.

Genres eligible for submission include the following:
• Picture Book
Two sub-categories:
1. For ages 2 - 5
2. For ages 4 - 8
• Fiction for Younger Readers (6 – 8 years old)
• Fiction for Older Readers (8 – 12 years old)
Work selected will be published by SNP International Publishing Pte Ltd (SNPI).
Closing date for submissions is 3 March 2008.

All successful applicants must attend a Masterclass on 7 June 2008. Workshop fee: $80 for members of the public. Complimentary seats for successful applicants.
