She is the Managing Director of Asiapac Books Pte Ltd, a publishing house which she founded in 1983. Asiapac is renowned for producing illustrated books and comics on a range of subjects covering Asian wisdom and culture. Ms Lim is an active member of the Singapore Book Publishers Association, the Singapore Chinese Book Publishers Association, and the Singapore Society of Asian Studies. She is also conferred the title of 'Spirit of Enterprise Award: Year 2004 Honouree'.


VICE-CHAIRPERSON – Mr Johnson Paul

Johnson Paul was with the Corporate and Strategic Planning Division of the Ministry of Information and the Arts before he joined the National Library Board of Singapore in 1997. He also serves as the Regional Network Development Manager for CONSAL (Congress of Southeast Asian Librarians) and is primarily involved in the collaborative initiatives of CONSAL member countries. In 1999 he contributed significantly to the reconstruction of the National Library Board's reference services to Customized Information Services (CIS), paving the way for the development of commercial services in information packaging and information literacy.

Mrs. Kiang-Koh Lai Lin, is the Director of Programmes and Events Management Division in the National Library Board of Singapore and has been with the Library since 1973. Lai Lin also served as the Information coordinator, Libraries for Children and Young Adults Section, IFLA from 2000 to 2005. The SCL News of the IFLA Libraries for Children and Young Adults Section, June 2005 issue had won the Newsletter of the Year in 2005. Lai Lin was awarded "The Public Administration Medal (Bronze)" in 1990 and The Long Service Award in 2000.



HONARARY TREASURER – Mr Leo Vincent

Leo Vincent started his first job in the book industry in 1983 with MPH Bookstores. He left MPH in 1999 to start his own business at Advance Library Services Pte Ltd. ALS has established itself as one of the 'shelf-ready' vendors providing a full spectrum of library services including collection development, full cataloguing services, and sourcing of print and non-print materials for both academic and public libraries.


COMMITTEE MEMBER – Ms Azizah Sidek
National Library Board

Azizah obtained her Masters of Science in Information Studies from the Nanyang Technological University in 1997. She has been a reference librarian since 1989. Currently, she is the Reference Specialist with the Lee Kong Chian Reference of the National Library Board. She has assisted several researchers in their work and has been acknowledged in some of their publications.


COMMITTEE MEMBER – Ms Sandy Cheung

Sandy Cheung has over 15 years of corporate experience in business development, marketing & PR, event management and sponsorship. Sandy has worked as a Project Manager with Reed Exhibitions responsible for marketing and selling of exhibitions and conferences. Subsequent to that she moved into advertising and sponsorship in the education industry. She is now the Senior Product Manager (Southeast Asia) of CCH Asia, a leading global information provider in Taxation, Accounting, Employment and Business Law.


COMMITTEE MEMBER – Mr R Thuraimanikam
Association of Singapore Tamil Writers

R. Thuraimanikam is the Vice President of the Singapore Tamil Writers Association. He has written for Tamil language newspapers like Tamil Murasu, Tamil Malar and Tamil Nesan and he was the Editor of magazines like "Mannavar Poonga" and "Kolgai Mullakam". He has also compiled short stories he wrote for the Singapore Tamil radio into two books, "Vallar Pirai" (Crescent) and "Yellai Kottu" (Boundary). One of his short story compilations, "Kalam Kadanthu Vittathu" (Time Has Passed) was published in 1990, in conjunction with the celebration of Singapore’s 25th National Day.

Chua Hong Koon is the Publishing Director at Armour Publishing Pte Ltd. He has published many types of books, from children’s books to assessment books, reference books, textbooks, trade books, professional books, and now Christian books. Having worked in Oxford University Press and Pearson Education for many years, Hong Koon has had the opportunity
to work with authors from many countries.



COMMITTEE MEMBER – Ms Thavamani Prem Kumar
Singapore Indian Development Association

Thavamani has over 30 years experience in academic librarianship. She is a Senior Librarian at the National University of Singapore Libraries, first serving at the C J Koh Law Library for 22 years. She moved to the Central Library in 2005 and has been with the Information Services Department since 2006. Currently, she serves the information needs of users in the subject areas of philosophy, South Asian Studies and languages. She has been volunteering her time at SINDA since 1996, particularly in the area of educational projects such as Project Vidya.



COMMITTEE MEMBER – Ms Betty Tan

Betty Tan has over 16 years of corporate banking experience and had held position as a Corporate Secretary and Administrators (CISA) with Credit Lyonnaise, a French Bank and Pan Indonesia Bank. She incorporated English Corners International in Hong Kong as a Bookresellers and Distributors in 1999, and returned to Singapore in 2002, to establish English Corner Publishing Pte Ltd which now focuses mainly in children's magazines both import and locally published magazines. Betty now serves in the Executive Committee of the Singapore Book Publishers Association and is currently the chairperson of SBPA Bookfairs Committee, in charge of organizing international bookfairs for the members. Betty's areas of interests: storytelling and how to market your books and magazines.


COMMITTEE MEMBER – Ms Sharifah Sakinah Ali Alkaff

A self-motivated and driven Director with over 20 years of progressive work experience in teaching, and leading teachers, management of educational programmes, with an exceptionally strong working knowledge of working with youths, delivering support to the Chief Executive Officer, advisor to Malay Members of Parliament in dealing with youths and academic matters, exposure to fieldwork, case management, assessing and auditing tutors, trainers and providers, conducting career and motivating talks in schools and other voluntary welfare organisations.
Excellent self-motivated, enthusiastic and committed to professional excellence.
